Ridiculous Romances.
This post, unlike what Hannah may think, is not about personal reality romances, it is about romantic novels. Fist off, you have to know I love to read. I'm not too particular about what I read, although I do have my favorites. I love Historical Fiction, Adventure, Murder Mysteries, Just plain Fiction, Fantasy, realistic fiction, and even some non-fiction. I also like romances, or at least I did. It all started when I got a book around christmas time (a romance novel, to be exact), and I read it, but afterwards felt so.... empty. But, I figured it was just that author or just that book, so I read another romantic novella. (Actually, quite a few more!) And with each one I felt more and more empty. I started to wonder why I felt this way. I decided that not only are romantic novels kinda gross, they're also quite boring (for the most part). You already know that 2 people like each other (sometimes 3, but it quickly narrows down to 2). And there are two options:
a.) they fall in love and all is "happily ever after" (which happens 99% of the time)
b.) they love each other but one dies, a tragic ending, etc. (which happens 1% of the time)
So basically, you already have your two options of how it will end before you even start it. The 200 pages in between the beginning and the end are filled with endless passionate kisses and other worthless happenings. Because believe me, publishers don't let authors write books where nothing turns out and all is sad and hopeless in the romance. Anyway, I've just decided that romances are a waste of time - I'd rather be reading a fascinating book on why elephants don't fly!

I hope life isn't a big joke, because I don't get it.
Really, I don't. Sitting here, sorely tempted to write a blog on "why I hate the world", I refrain from doing such a horrible and sinful thing as I do not really hate the world - I just don't get it. It's kinda funny actually. While pondering this contemplative subject, I started thinking back to my younger years. Oh, those joyful years. How I miss them. I got to thinking about Robert Fulghum's list of "All I really need to know I learned in Kindergarten" (If you don't know what I'm talking about, I strongly recommend googling it, cause you're missing out!). I think back on how I used to come home from my "long" day at school and eat cookies and milk, do 5 minutes of homework, practice the piano 15 minutes and then have the rest of the day (I got out of school at 2:15) to play and pretend (not that I had much to pretend - I already was living the simple life). Not to mention I got to sleep for 10 hours a day, and not only did I have 10 hours to sleep, no one thought you were lazy when you slept that long, and they cared when you didn't get enough sleep. And back then, I thought my life was hard. Wow. Now, I'm not saying life is not hard now, my point is that my life is a lot harder now. Which got me thinking (I know, it's a miracle I can even do that) about life. Will I look back at my teenage years (my current state), 20 years from now with longing and say, "Oh how I miss those days! That was the life back then!"? I hope not. If that's the case, I am definitely moving to Neverland with Jeremy Sumpter. Another thought that strikes me as odd (Not to mention that sentence strikes me as odd, as how can a sentence strike me, it's not a match or a union group or anything). Why, do we, as human beings, have such a hard time living the present; not regretting the past, or stressing about the future - just living, enjoying, breathing. Just being grateful we can breathe, think, move. Really, I do hope life is not a joke, cause I don't get it. Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean ? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Note to Mr. Rich ---
Don't count this as a blog, but I just wanted to let you know... you're welcome to read any 2 blogs that you want, but I highly reccomend the one entitled, "Why Can't He Just Die?!?!" as it is a personal favorite, and any other of your choice (such as "Why Can't I write...seriously?", or the one about smells, or the poem w/ the smiley faces, or the dollar store blog). Anyway. Have fun reading blogs!

End-of-the-Term Madness
Sitting here, doing Homework, hoping that I won't have to do another 4:30 night (more like morning), I sit here and ponder the question...
Why do they have the end-of-term madness? NO ONE likes it, so why have it? I mean, I could understand it if the teacher's liked it, but so far it appears to be otherwise (more like the exact opposite). And so far I haven't met a single student who looks forward to the end of the term week, except to get it over with. I guess the people who made up the end of the term weren't teachers and definitely weren't students. And did I ever tell you the stupidity of finals? All it causes is stress, which causes brain damage, because in the end you die early of a heat attack, and then your brain doesn't work anymore...which in the end makes you more stupid since your brain doesn't work when it's dead! (Use Common Sense here, people!) :) And as I'm writing this I realize the random weirdness of this, and realize I don't care right now. Maybe it has something to do with the recent "late nights" which are really "early mornings" which are really "how-long-can-i-go-without-sleep-athons". Let's just say I'm excited to be able to come close to getting the recommended hours of sleep, instead of half of them. So in answer to the profound question of why they have end of the term madness, I don't quite know or understand, besides some nice people who just sit in offices and answer phones want to make you die a lot earlier.

Why White Snow is Wonderful.

I’ve often wondered why people don’t like snow. I agree, after a few months I get sick of it too, but why not just enjoy it while we have it. They have their own crazy reasons of why they don’t like it, but I’m here to tell ya why I think white snow is wonderful.

Just think if snow was black, how sad it would be. For one, if it was black or another dark color, the world would be really dark and dreary for months on end, instead of beautiful, clear, clean and white. Also, if the snow was dark, it would melt way fast, causing tons of flooding. So obviously it great snow is white; otherwise winter would be a lot worse than it already is.
