Smells.
At first you think okay.... you stink. if this is the greatest thing you could come up with, you live a lame life! Really smells are pretty awesome. They can trigger memories like almost nothing else. They can be the determining factor on your grades. They also make you attracted to people of the opposite gender. That caught your attention, didn't it? Strange, but true. The smells of another, to put it bluntly, can either turn you off, or turn you on. According to some smell doctor (i forgot the name of), guys are attracted to smells of cinnamon rolls, lavender and pumpkin pie. ladies, on the other hand are aroused by the aroma of black licorice and cucumber. (Don't ask me where this guy came up with it... he just did- and there's scientific proof!) Also, smells can help you on tests. The smell of peppermint, for example can make one more alert. Also, a mixed floral smell helps one concentrate better. And if you want to sleep good, take a whiff of lavender. And if you want to burn some extra calories faster, it has been known that the smell of strawberry will help you in that quest. Although this may sound weird, there is scientific proof to back me up. And if you don't believe me - try it! One last thing that is weird, but true is that these people did an experiment. (that's not the weird part - there's more coming!) Every time they got hungry and felt like eating, they would just let their little nose wander over to the smell of green apple, bananas, and peppermint (and no, they did not stop to smell the roses). These people found that within 6 months they lost 30 pounds! So, with this scientific evidence, we can now infer that smell has a huge effect on our lives. It can determine the one you marry, how well you do in school (just tell your math teacher you forgot to put on your peppermint deodorant that day when you flunked your test), and how good you sleep and just how many calories you burn. In short, something seemingly insignificant has a huge effect on our lives, so next time - just stop and smell the roses!

Why Thanksgiving is such a cool holiday.
THANKSGIVING. An awesome holiday in anyone's book (or at least in mine). Here's why.
1.) No matter what your religion - you can celebrate.
2.)It's remembering History.
3.)You get to relax.
4.)You get to spend time with your family.
5.)It's a day to give thanks! How cool is that!?! Our country has a day to give thanks!
6.)There is no school (and for the most part no work!)
7.)You get to eat tons of food.
8.)Not only that- you get out of school to eat tons of food! (isn't that the coolest... you get out of school to eat food!!!!)
Combined ... you get one of the greatest holidays ever invented!

Family and Food. I know when faced with the question, which do you love more, Family or Food, most people will resounding respond Family. This may be, as with family you have the relationship ties that bind you together. Not to mention all the time you spend together. But what about food? I know that I, along with many other people, definitely have a relationship with food, and food and I have spent quite a bit of time together. Also, many families (including mine), have a habit of every time they get together they pull out the pantry. Through the years, the mothering instinct has been passed down successfully, and mothers, as all mothers should, know that if you want your family to come and be happy... you need to feed them. Mothers know how hard it was to get you out of bed on Saturday morning at a decent hour without the sweet smell of pancakes sailing through the air, let alone flying halfway around the country to see her without some food. They also know that food makes you happy (in most cases). So it is the family we love most, or food? Well, give me my family with no food in sight and then I'll tell ya, but give me food with no family to be found, and the answer will change.

Why are friends so important? They determine how you feel, they’re contagious. Now, it’s not just colds and such, but moods and feelings. Have you ever had a day, where it’s just going great and then you talk or see someone who’s having a bad day, and they’re just super depressed or strange and you try to help them up, but in the end, you end up having a hard day and become depressed. On the other had, sometimes you can be having a hard day, and then someone makes you feel happy and then you end up having a great day. It’s pretty amazing isn’t it?!? So, not getting too scientific, what causes this dramatic change in people? It’s mental. As always, if you see or do something that gives you a good rush of emotion, you feel good or excited (a.k.a. adrenaline). But if you see or do something that scares you, or stresses you, well, it makes you feel sad (a.k.a. Norepinephrine). The brain receives these messages, and due to the sensitivity and empathy levels, it receives the messages differently. So, the way people act has a huge effect on you, and how you feel and act, so it is very important to choose good friends.
