Perspective is Everything!!!
So lately I've been thinking (surprise!) a lot (bigger surprise!) about people's attitudes and how they affect themselves and others. Really, it is amazing how just the way you think about something and the way you view it, has a profound effect on how much you like, or dislike that thing. And you totally set yourself up for it. Before it already happens, you already know how you're going to like something. Basically, the human mind is unbelievable. (My perspective on this may have something to do w/ why I love psychology so much!) I mean, we already see the power in thinking, as the little train said, "I think I can, I think I can" and look what thinking did for him! Not to mention my sister's favorite quote, "If you think you can, or you think you can't, you're right!". Or as Hannah likes to say, "Thinking makes it so", and if you ask her about it, she'll tell you about the ladies who make themselves pregnant, just by thinking they are (trust me, sounds weird, and it's probably not true, but ask her about it!). Anyway, the point is... the Human Mind is beautiful and amazing!

Happy Day!
Why family is so fun.
Recently my grandma celebrated her 89th birthday. This was cool as much of my family came from all over (mostly CA, though) to celebrate. This side of my family is very fun. We are all very close, and I have over 60 cousins on this side, as well as many 2nd cousins, etc. So when we get together is is a blast. Little toddlers terrorizing go unnoticed, crying babies wipe their snot all over you when you pick them up, and the adults sit there, apparently attentive to whoever "has the floor". But the best part of all of this, is the food. Food, Glorious Food (to quote Oliver)! There has been this lady who has been filming our family for the last 5 years for a documentary. As she mentioned, every time our family gets together, we do much Feasting. Both spiritually, but especially physically. When I arrived at the scene (of the Birthday Party), I saw 3 long tables filled to capacity with food. Salads, Casseroles, Pizza, Brownies, Cake, and last, but not least - Ice Cream. I really think it is against the family forum to not like ice cream. Even if you are lactose intolerant - it is no excuse! You have to have ice cream, not just the nice little bowls that most people eat - this is the hard core half-gallon per person game. With this side of the family, it's optional to have cake at your party - as long as you have ice cream (or you can do what I do.... have an ice cream cake - it makes you fell like you're getting two-in-one)! But really, I don't think I've ever been with this family where there hasn't been more than enough food. It is amazing! So, in order to answer the original question - family is fun due to food! (I know, there are other cool reasons - but I'm saving those for another blog!)

So lately I've been a little bewildered with the world around me. Maybe frustrated is a better word. I think the best way to express my feelings is with a poem, so here goes:

A puppet on a string,
Pulled by everything.
Tossed and Turned with Every Twist,
of the child's Spastic Wrist.
Yanked back and forth,
Tearing apart
Falling Lifeless to to the Ground,
Mercilessly Bound.
the child looses interest
as I do not React.
Leaves me there, Forsaken,
Never Coming Back.

P.S. to all you inquiring girls out there.... no, this is not about a boy.

Why I am random.
Well, there are many reasons contributing to this... but the main reason is because it's so much fun! Can I just tell you how exciting life is when you aren't spontaneous? Basically, it's the most boring thing in the world (believe me, I've done it). For years I wandered around with no real purpose but to listen to and do everything someone told me. Trust me, it was about as fun as it sounds. To me, randomization is a way of expressing myself, a way of living. I am happiest when I am doing fun things - which often go synonymously with random things. My randomness may also have something to do with the fact that I am much more random when I have less sleep (it's my body's way of coping). Well, I could go on and on, but that's really hard to do without being random, so everybody - Plan to be spontaneous tomorrow!
