I hope life isn't a big joke, because I don't get it.
Really, I don't. Sitting here, sorely tempted to write a blog on "why I hate the world", I refrain from doing such a horrible and sinful thing as I do not really hate the world - I just don't get it. It's kinda funny actually. While pondering this contemplative subject, I started thinking back to my younger years. Oh, those joyful years. How I miss them. I got to thinking about Robert Fulghum's list of "All I really need to know I learned in Kindergarten" (If you don't know what I'm talking about, I strongly recommend googling it, cause you're missing out!). I think back on how I used to come home from my "long" day at school and eat cookies and milk, do 5 minutes of homework, practice the piano 15 minutes and then have the rest of the day (I got out of school at 2:15) to play and pretend (not that I had much to pretend - I already was living the simple life). Not to mention I got to sleep for 10 hours a day, and not only did I have 10 hours to sleep, no one thought you were lazy when you slept that long, and they cared when you didn't get enough sleep. And back then, I thought my life was hard. Wow. Now, I'm not saying life is not hard now, my point is that my life is a lot harder now. Which got me thinking (I know, it's a miracle I can even do that) about life. Will I look back at my teenage years (my current state), 20 years from now with longing and say, "Oh how I miss those days! That was the life back then!"? I hope not. If that's the case, I am definitely moving to Neverland with Jeremy Sumpter. Another thought that strikes me as odd (Not to mention that sentence strikes me as odd, as how can a sentence strike me, it's not a match or a union group or anything). Why, do we, as human beings, have such a hard time living the present; not regretting the past, or stressing about the future - just living, enjoying, breathing. Just being grateful we can breathe, think, move. Really, I do hope life is not a joke, cause I don't get it. Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean ? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.
